Between-wear clothes need a decision, not a second closet growing on a chair.

Sort by condition
Check for sweat, stains and dampness. Send dirty pieces to laundry and follow their care labels.
Air the wearable pieces
Hang suitable garments where air can circulate. Keep them separate from freshly washed clothing until you are ready to wear them again.
Limit the holding place
Use a few hooks or one small rail rather than an open-ended pile. Review it each week and return or launder what has been forgotten.
Should every worn item be washed?
